Write an award citation

Create an award package for the person you are nominating. Keep their accomplishments, drafts and favorite wording together while you prepare the nomination. Each award submission uses three credits, including AF Form 1206. New accounts start with five credits.

Generate a draft

  1. Open Rapid Generator and choose New Package.
  2. Choose the person’s branch, then a format under Awards & Decorations.
  3. Name the package for the person and award.
  4. Enter their rank, name, duty title, unit and award period.
  5. Describe their accomplishments and results in up to 500 characters.
  6. Choose Generate Award, review the draft, and pin or copy useful wording.
To set the award period, open Time Period, enter the start and end dates, and choose Update. Check the dates shown on the button before generating. Citation formats require a rank, name, duty title and unit. Most produce a complete citation with an opening, achievement narrative and closing. The Army format offers alternative achievement narratives; the recorded example shows two achievement groups with three versions each. AF Form 1206 organizes statements into categories and does not require those member fields. Spell out uncommon acronyms. Generated text can add claims, inferred pronouns or placeholders such as [Location] or [Rank/Name]. Check these against the member’s information, along with the dates, citation wording and form limits.
